WCQ433 Chicago Playwright Sarah Gubbins 2011-09-06
Host: Amy Matheny and Mitchell Fain
It's all about lesbians and parenting today. Mitchell and Amy dish on being gay and whether or not they want children. Is it selfish to not want children or does society make us feel that way? Mitchell shares his experiences with some amazing kids.
Guest: Openly lesbian Chicago playwright, Sarah Gubbins joins Amy on this Queercast for the first time. Sarah gives us a little background on starting in the theater and how she evolved into a playwright. She also has a new play running called The Kid Thing and she delves into that story and how it was created. Steppenwolf has commissioned Sarah to write a new play which will be featured in their young audience program series. For more information and tickets for The Kid Thing, visit About Face Theatre's website.
