WCQ423 Out Artist and Playwright Daaimah Mubashshir 2011-06-27
Host: Amy Matheny
Amy recounts this year's Pride Parade in Chicago. The crowds were bigger, the vandals were out to ruin our floats and what will be done in future parades to help with crowd control. Pride weekend started off with a BANG in New York when they signed Marriage Equality legislation. What is going on with President Obama and his 1996 survey regarding Same Sex Marriage? Amy also lets us know about future guests on the Queercast. Have a Happy July 4th!
Guest: Muslim and Out Artist and Playwright, Daaimah Mubashshir joins Amy on the Queercast. Daaimah shares her story of growing up Muslim in Houston, Texas, coming out, then rediscovering Islam and what that's meant to her.
