WCQ370 Tina Cesa Ward, Filmmaker of Anyone But Me Web Series 2010-06-14
Host: Amy Matheny with Kelli Simpkins
Kelli and Amy recap the Tony Awards. How did Sean Hayes handle the Newsweek article claiming he couldn't play a straight character? They dish on Catherine Zeta Jones and Kelli's fantastic reaction to her performance. Congrats to Levi Kreis! Pride Month is upon us and the gals share their first parade experiences. Also, Windy City Gay Idol Finals are this Saturday! Come out and meet some of us! Sidetrack, be there! Doors open at 1pm, show starts at 3. Miss Cleo will be one of our judges and past winners will come by to sing. Don't miss out!
Guest: Filmmaker Tina Cesa Ward joins Amy on the Queercast. Anyone But Me is a post 911 Web Series (with the main character being lesbian) written and directed by Tina. Tina gives us her original intention of the show's medium, it's evolution and how it has now drawn over four million viewers. She talks also about having a show on the web versus television. james: so levi kreiss is interviewed on the queercast and not too long afterward he wins a tony award! some singer we've never heard of before who calls herself lady gaga is on the queercast and performs at the gay idol and not too long later is an international sensation!
anyone else detect a pattern here?
who's next? maybe there will be an oprah-produced talk show hosted by someone who we'll say, 'remember when she was the host of the queercast?'
the queercast; it's where stars are made!
amy: James...from your mouth to God's ears (and when I say god I mean Oprah! LOL) Though I do think I have a knack for knowing what folks might like. And if you are enjoying the ride on the Queercast, I am doing my job. Thanks for listening and commenting and Happy Pride!
